Position - Logistics Specialist

Plan logistics for incoming material using online portal; coordinate w/customs agent/brokers for filing manifests w/airlines; coordinate w/gateways for U.S. loads; hand outgoing loads to subsidiaries; handle local logistics incl. freight; address service issues; maintain, prep & control reports; improve operational systems, process & policies to ensure deliveries; generate periodic MIS reports; establish & implement strategies to reduce overall logistics costs through optimization & consolidation efforts; improve transit times by ensuring freight delays are recognized & resolved; develop strategic/operational plans, manage execution & measure results; handle FTL/LTL carrier activities incl. meeting stated transits & minimizing exceptions by coordination.

Some Organizations practice Corporate Philanthropy and few others follow community-based development as a sustainable model. At DTDC, it is a combination of both Philanthropy and Community Based Development, known as “Creating Shared Value” or CSV. This shared value model is based on the idea that corporate success and social welfare are interdependent. In DTDC, way back in 1990, when the concept was not much known, it’s Founder Mr. Subhasish Chakraborty, the CMD, had created a unique business model on the concept of what is known as CSV today. It was his mission to create and share wealth amongst thousands of people by making them Entrepreneurs and in turn creating job opportunity not only for them but also through them to the economically weaker section of the society. Such independent Entrepreneurs numbering over 7,000 today have created job opportunities for over 20,000 people.
